Access To Srcsafe.ini Is Denied
It looks all the users, who currently have tmp files in their VSS folders, are the users that VPN into our system remote. May be Z: drive issue could be the problem. reboot. I have mapped Z: drive to the CD drive of VSS Server for some other use and it is not visible in my system. P.S.: Unfortunately I have no say here and SS is and will be our version control software.

I have done the following: 1. 'admin' rights in client machine given(admin right here means OS admin rights) 2. can i be pro; bryna waldman? Are both the computers in the same domain as the server with the vss database? When on that machine I can browse the folder just fine as well as open the database in Visual SourceSafe Explorer.

In fact I don't believe the user needs permission beyond normal read/write from Windows. When I try to connect to that VSS database from another computer on the network I get an 'Access is Denied' when trying to browse to the srcsafe.ini.
