Then you can get the correct drivers from Dell's website. Could this have corrupted something? I ran memtest86 and passed. given what you've done it's either the mobo or the ram, niether of which would be worth replacing.but out of curiosity, did you install dell's software?

I'm upgrading the one laptop to 3GB of RAM because the owner plays Farmville 2 on it, which consumes all 2GB of RAM and thrashes the hard drive. Also used 3 different antivirus programs to look for malware. You can remove the RAM and re-install with one stick and re-set your router to clear those possibilities.
