However, all subsequent updates failed with the 0x80004002 error message in the WindowsUpdate.log, but no failure to install line item for any of these updates was shown The Anti-virus will not implicate such a problem on the download as much as the Firewall and some Anti-spyware running in Protection Mode?.
While registering each .DLL file you should get a "succeeded" message. Installer 3.1 is corrupted. We will address some of the more common causes of this issue. Please send it as an attachment to [email protected] I upgraded from SP 2 and have not had one single problem although I did install it by getting the CD from Microsoft rather than by downloading it.
