Windows Xp Repair Stuck At Please Wait
Still, I may have missed a couple of the tick-boxes, so will try again following this last post and let you all know. Any idea why NLA would all of a sudden cause this? By the way, it has the latest BIOS update available, 2204. services, msconfig, startup groups... Using the site is easy and fun. Gigabyte makes an excellent mobo and I'm looking at some for consideration along with Asus mobos. etc. The system once again booted quickly without problem. Once I re-enabled the NLA service again, the problem returned.
Install carried on fine, entered my product key etc no worries. Don't let your past experience cloud your opinions. If you check the ASUS sight, there are dozens of posts and complaints about this but ASUS will not even acknowledge the problem.
Fails memtest after running for a few hours. You can't assume that the troubles you are having are caused by the operating system.I suspect there may be more to this than what appears to be. Whilst the system itself has been really great performance wise, the way the system was sliced and diced has caused me nothing but problems. Thanks to the suggestion, however, I went to your 'beep' i/d programme and got this about my particular beeps:- 8 short Display memory read/write error- The system video adapter is missing If you clean install, and still have disk errors as above, and you have an Asus board, the board is defective.Specifically, it's the chip set, and more specifically the north bridge windows probably wants to reactivate So it will wait for ever if you haven't got an internet connection working, which you won't on a new mobo without drivers.
